HISTORY

In the fourth century A.D. the Roman Empire was taken down and various barbaric tribes invaded Europe. The Franks, who entrhoned Charlemagne as emporer later, were one of the dominant tribes who kept growing their power until 800 A.D. Charlemagne was known as the emporer of the west.

In the ninth century, the empire was torn apart due to civil wars and more invasions so eventually the empire fell apart. Power local war lords and their mounted warriors gave protection to peasents, who later on became their serfs. The lords during the feudal era owed alliegence to even greater lords and they gave their loyalty to them. These lords, and even some of the men who served them, were knights. By the 11th century a new social order was put into place. Amored Knights would serve a local lord, count, or a duke and the Knights were served by the serfs.
